Thursday December 23

58F Hot and wet when I arrived on the veranda at 6:05... Soon to be cold and dry. A wet ride thru the rain Forrest dodging deep shiny puddles that dot the black road. A slow ponderous ride with a pack full of warm winter riding clothes on my back. They say it will be in the thirties by this afternoon.

24F when I arrived on the veranda at 5:56 this morning. Me feets cold again. If the distance were greater I'd be in real trouble. Cold thick air, breathing was somewhat difficult on the long climb to 5 points; ice in my beard again.

24F ~ Okay it's cold! I did not over-dress! A slow ride thru wind gusts I arrived on the veranda at 5:53. From top to bottom.. Helmet, knit watch cap, head band; bandana, polo shirt, wind breaker, short tee; light-weight long warm-up pants under touring shorts, wool socks under short terry sport socks, riding shoes. Toasty except fingers and toes... that and a slightly frozen bread and mustache.

Tuesday December 14

31F ~ Oops! I forgot to put on the top tee shirt! Toasty warm anyhow with thin warm-ups under my shorts. Only my foots were cold. Really strong north wind gusting to 25 mph plus on Marietta Street, it slowed me quite a bit. I arrived on the veranda at 6:00.

34F on the way home... me toes cold again!

Old Fright Room club ride plus a little more totaled up to 25 miles. A little bite to the air at 45F and light rain; I stayed toasty as long as I worked hard. Near the end of the ride my feet started getting a little chilled, not too bad but noticeable.
